TL;DR. Replayer runs on your Mac. Your video loops never leave it. We don't collect, transmit, or store any video, audio, or personal data on our servers — we don't have servers.

What we do not collect

  • Video recordings or looped captures
  • Camera or microphone feeds
  • Personal information, accounts, or profiles
  • Usage analytics, telemetry, or crash reports
  • Meeting content, participants, or metadata

How Replayer works

Replayer is a native macOS app. When you record a loop, it is captured and processed locally on your Mac. The loop is written to a file on your disk — the same way any other macOS app saves a local file — and played back through a virtual camera that the OS exposes to other apps on your machine.

No data is transmitted to a server as part of normal use. We do not have a server.

The virtual camera

Replayer installs a macOS system-extension virtual camera. Other apps on your Mac (Zoom, Meet, Discord, etc.) can pick it as a video source. Whatever those apps do with video after they receive it is governed by their privacy policies, not ours.

In-app purchases

If you buy the $4.99 "Remove Away Overlay" in-app purchase, the transaction is handled by Apple's StoreKit. Apple receives the purchase information necessary to complete the sale and to validate the receipt if you reinstall or restore on another Mac. Apple's privacy practices apply. Replayer does not receive your Apple ID, email, or payment details.

Third-party services

Replayer does not integrate with third-party analytics, advertising, crash-reporting, or tracking services. The app is distributed through the Mac App Store, which has its own privacy practices as governed by Apple.

Permissions

Replayer asks for camera access (to record your loops), microphone access (if you opt into audio), and permission to install its virtual-camera system extension. These permissions are managed by macOS in System Settings and you can revoke them at any time.

Changes

If we ever change how Replayer handles data, we will update this page and bump the "Last updated" date at the top. Historically this page has been boring on purpose and we'd like to keep it that way.
